Monthly Filter Coffee - Speciality - Costa Rica Hacienda Pilas (Natural)

$20.00
Tax included.

Hacienda Pilas in Costa Rica is one of the industry's most progressive farms, dedicated to sustainable practices to achieve outstanding coffee, all while caring for the growing environment, and ensuring workers are looked after too.

Eduardo Gurdian is a 6th generation coffee farmer who has spent time with a number of experienced growers throughout the world, including Dariusz Lewandowski, Cofi com Australia's lead coffee grader and buyer.

Eduardo's care for the environment has led to the plantation of coffee varietals capable of producing exceptional coffee in an ever changing, climate change affected farm.  So much so, that support plants have even been planted to tackle soil erosion issues, provide cover crops to assist with nutrients cycling back into the soil and plantation of timber trees to provide additional income, all while minimising pesticides and chemical fertilisers.

Unlike many farms, all cherries are hand-picked at full red ripeness.

This particular coffee is naturally processed.  The smell is amazing with sweet candy tones, fruit and honey.  The roasted coffee itself has beautiful notes of apricot, chocolate, cognac and a citrus finish.  One of the best coffees we've had in house.  Enjoy!
